Husbands please……..
The last couple of weeks have been a bit challenging with my kitchen girls. They haven’t been showing up for our times of “prayers” and it seems they had lost interest. I was really struggling with this fact and what to do next. The thought even crossed my mind to stop meeting if they didn’t care. But God checked my heart and I knew through God’s strength I needed to continue to press on. So this last week I went to meet with the girls and to my surprise almost all of them were there and a few extras too. God had put on my heart to share a little bit of my story with them. After I shared I asked the girls how we could pray for God to work in their lives. Immediately without hesitation Sitima spoke up for the girls. Her request went something like this…..” Tara, we need prayers for godly husbands (snickering from the other girls). Yes Tara, there are just no good men around. We need godly men and we need to pray about it!” Well, I heartily agreed with her- yes we do need godly men, and yes we do need to pray about it. So after committing to pray about it I also shared that in order to pray for godly men we need to become godly women. I was inwardly praising God for Sitima’s boldness that night as I was praying about what direction to take with these girls. SO what is the next step? Yes, praying for godly husbands but also studying what God says a godly wife is. Please pray for me as this is new uncharted territory. But God gives strength as we continue to seek HIM.
